It's 00:54 CET here in Italy, and this year not even one firework, no merry joung people laughing in the streets, not even one illumination that I can see from my window on the balconies of the nearby homes. The only Christmas illuminations I saw so far were in the malls, and they are there more for marketing than for social reasons. The heavy economic crisis killed all the joy of living that was always a big part of our culture and way of living. And sure the end of the year won't be any different. God please help us.

Is it really that bad in Italy? Damn, never knew that :( I guess I'm sort of protected up here in Norway (living a sheltered life one might say), I knew stuff was bad, but... bummer..

Not that anyone is partying or setting of fireworks here either, but that's just because we never do that on Christmas Eve.

Cold? We're having the least wintery christmas I can remember (I'm 32 years old) now. No snow, tons of rain, 7 degrees Celsius... it sucks :( I miss the cold, I want/need -20 Celsius and 2 feet of snow.

That is warm for you. I grew up in winters that didn't drop below 15C on average and I think the record was 10C, so yeah too fucking cold lol!

It's going to be -23 tonight here in Northern Ontario, Canada. This past weekend we got 2 feet of snow alone to add to the 1 and 1/2.

Haha, 15C is a nice summer evening for me, but we do get temperatures up to 30+C sometimes, but hardly ever more than 25C. My problem is that I never get cold, -20C? Put on a sweatshirt, -30C put on a woolly jumper and a denim jacket. -40C, yeah... that IS cold. So how do you think my body handles stuff above 25C? :P

30C? That's cute, try 40C with 100% humidity. Pools of water literally form at the base of brick walls and you can cut the air with a knife. Now that's the summers I grew up in, man I miss those days sometimes.

My blood has thickened up some so I don't get as cold as I used too but I think that is just the Swede in me coming out.

Kinda my point mate, you can handle warm weather, I can handle cold :)

I have my thermostat in my livingroom set to 17C. Oh, and never let the swede in you out, he'll just start pillaging anything he sees and eat Surströmning
